ゲストSo I’ve been going down this rabbit hole of paint protection for my new car and I’m starting to wonder if I’m overcomplicating things. I’ve always just used wax on my previous cars and they looked fine, but everyone I talk to these days seems to be getting PPF or ceramic coating and making me feel like I’m neglecting my car if I don’t do the same. I’m trying to understand the real practical differences between all these options because wax is obviously way cheaper and easier to apply, but I know it doesn’t last as long and doesn’t protect against stone chips. On the other hand, PPF is expensive but seems to offer the best protection, and ceramic coating is somewhere in the middle. I’m not sure if the extra cost of PPF is actually justified for someone who’s not super obsessive about their car’s appearance. I mean, I keep my car clean and I care about how it looks, but I’m not the type to spend every weekend detailing it either. I found this breakdown https://paintprotectionfilm.ae/ppf-vs-wax-vs-sealant-paint-protection/ that explains the differences pretty clearly, but I’m still not convinced that PPF is worth it for a regular guy like me. Has anyone here switched from wax to PPF and actually noticed a significant benefit that made it worth the cost? Or do you think wax is still a perfectly fine option for daily drivers in our climate? I just don’t want to spend a few thousand dirhams on something that’s not going to make a noticeable difference for how I use my car. Really curious to hear what other people are actually doing with their cars.
