So my 2016 Ford Edge has started doing this thing where it hesitates when shifting from first to second gear, especially when the engine is cold, and it’s got me pretty worried because I know transmission issues can be incredibly expensive to fix if you don’t catch them early. I took it to a garage near my place and they quoted me a ridiculous amount just for a diagnostic and said it might need a full transmission rebuild, which honestly sounded like they were trying to scare me into spending a fortune.
